How do I view IUPAC ambiguity codes in SnapGene?

View the Codes

SnapGene can handle IUPAC ambiguity codes for nucleotide degeneracy. For more information about IUPAC codes see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nucleic_acid_notation.

Click Tools → Letter Codes to see a summary of degenerate codes.

Use the Codes

A DNA sequence can contain A, G C or T and any of the above codes for nucleotide degeneracy.

An RNA sequence can contain A, G, C or (U) and any of the above codes for nucleotide degeneracy (for RNA T is substituted with U, for example, W = A or U).
